Liquid Corrosion Inhibitors
InvoCor CI-3740 is a liquid additive specifically designed as an inhibitor of flash rust, early rust, and in can corrosion in water-based coatings. It is compatible with a wide variety of resin systems and can be incorporated at any stage of manufacture, including post addition. InvoCor CI-3740 can also be employed as a metal stabilizer in water blasting applications. Typical loading levels are usually between 0.25 – 1.5% for flash rust and in-can corrosion control and 2.0%-10% in water blasting applications.
InvoCor CI-9050 is a liquid additive specifically designed as an inhibitor of flash rust, in-can corrosion,early rust and corrosion protection in water-based coatings subjected to mildly corrosive environments. It is compatible with a wide variety of resin systems and can be incorporated at any stage of manufacture, but is primarily recommended for post addition. InvoCor CI-9050 can also be employed as a metal stabilizer in water blasting applications. It is basically 50% more effective as our first generation InvoCor CI-3740 inhibitor with the added benefits of offering excellent weld seam corrosion protection. Typical loading levels are usually between 0.25 – 0.5% for flash rust resistance and 1.0% – 3.0% for weld seam protection and water blasting applications.
InvoCor CI-1020 is a liquid organic corrosion inhibitor for use in water-based coatings. Utilizing alkanolamine chemistry, it has been specifically designed as both a long-term corrosion inhibitor as well as a flash rust inhibitor (including early rust and in-can corrosion) with VPI protecting properties.
It is nitrite-free and DOES NOT ADVERSELY EFFECT GLOSS.
InvoCor CI-1020 is compatible with a wide variety of resin systems and can usually be incorporated at any stage of manufacture, including post addition. However, as with any corrosion inhibitor, thorough stability testing is suggested. Typical loading levels are usually between 1.0%-3.0% for long-term
corrosion protection and between 0.5%–2.0% for flash rust resistance. Synergistic corrosion protection is possible by using InvoCor CI-1020 in conjunction with an inhibitive pigment such as InvoCor CI-3365.
InvoCor TCI-1730 is a liquid organic corrosion inhibitor for protecting ferrous substrates. They have intended to provide protection to ferrous metals during periods of inside storage, or as corrosion inhibitors in protective coatings. They are neutral in pH and are available in two different solvents: isopropanol and water. The InvoCor TCI-1730S is cut in isopropanol for increased compatibility, and is readily soluble in water, mineral oil, and nitrocellulosics. InvoCor CI-1730W is cut in water for compatibility in most water-based resin systems.
The InvoCor TCI-1730’s are film forming inhibitors; forming a hard, clear, dry film on ferrous substrates upon evaporation. These thin films are non-staining and are typically dry to touch in less than 2 hours.
Typical loading levels for short term protection are 1% – 5%, loadings for longer term protection range from 5%-20%. Application can be by spray, dip, or brush and protection is for several months of indoor storage or in transit conditions. They also can be incorporated into “strippable” emulsions to provide extended temporary corrosion protection.
InvoCor TCI-1730 can also be as corrosion inhibitors in protective coatings, typical loadings are 0.5%-3%. Improved long-term corrosion protection is possible by using InvoCor TCI-1730 in conjunction with an inhibitive pigment such as InvoCor CI-3305, InvoCor CI-3365 or InvoCor CI-7025 (good starting
point is a 1:1 ratio and total inhibitor loadings 1% – 3%).
