Corrosion Inhibiting Pigments
Borates
InvoCor CI-3025
Calcium Borosilicate. ZINC FREE. InvoCor CI–3025 has been specifically designed as a corrosion inhibiting pigment typically used in alkyd based protective coating systems. Typical loading levels are usually between 5 – 15% by total formula weight.
InvoCor CI–3025 meets ASTM Specification D 4288-83, Type I.
InvoCor CI-3035
Calcium Borosilicate. ZINC FREE. InvoCor CI–3035 has been specifically designed as a corrosion inhibiting pigment typically used in alkyd based protective coating systems. Typical loading levels are usually between 2.5% – 15% by total formula weight.
InvoCor CI–3035 meets ASTM Specification D 4288-83, Type II.
InvoCor CI-3050
Calcium Borosilicate. ZINC FREE. InvoCor CI–3050 has been specifically designed as a high performance corrosion inhibiting pigment typically used in alkyd based protective coating systems and is highest borate content commercially available borosilicate corrosion inhibitor. In addition to excellent corrosion resistance, InvoCor CI-3050 also has a relatively low oil absorption, making it an excellent inhibitor choice in high solids alkyd formulations. Typical loading levels are usually between 1 – 5% by total formula weight. The following secondary benefits may be seen from InvoCor CI-3050:
- May significantly improve the “lift resistance” of common medium and long oil alkyd primers when used at levels of 0.5 – 2.0%.
- Aids in drying, both surface and trough dry, providing cost savings through the reduction of drier levels (especially cobalt). Surface dry may need to be balanced with the addition of zinc drier.
- Provide flame retardancy through the mechanisms of released water of hydration and excellent char layer formation.
Molybdates
InvoCor MW-101
Basic Zinc Molybdate, a chemical offset to MolyWhite 101, which is no longer commercially available.
Our InvoCor MW-101 offers a finer average particle size (1 micron vs. 10 micron) and a lower lead content (<20 ppm vs. 500 ppm). In addition, InvoCor MW-101 offers improved corrosion protection.
InvoCor MW-ZNP
Basic Zinc Molybdo-phosphosilicate. A functional replacement for MolyWhite ZNP. Compatible in a variety of solvent based resin systems including alkyds, epoxies, epoxy esters, powder coatings.
Zinc Phosphate Complexes
InvoCor CI-9010
Zinc Phosphosilicate. InvoCor CI–9010 is an excellent consideration as a zinc phosphate replacement. In many applications it demonstrates better corrosion protection than zinc phosphate on an equal weight substitution, while providing improved formulation economics.
This product has been specifically designed as a corrosion inhibiting pigment recommended for use in a variety of solvent and water-based chemistries such as: latexes, alkyds and epoxies. However, it is not recommended for use in acidic or high acid number resin systems. Typical loading levels are usually between 5 – 10% by total formula weight.
InvoCor CI-3365
Strontium Zinc Phosphosilicate. InvoCor CI–3365 has been specifically designed as a corrosion inhibiting pigment for use in protective coating systems. Loading levels are usually between 2.5% – 10% by total formula weight. It is a highly versatile and effective inhibitor; demonstrating excellent corrosion protection and stability in a wide variety of both solvent and water-borne resin systems.
InvoCor CI-3315
Zinc Phosphosilicate: “Strontium Free” analog of InvoCor CI-3365 with the added benefit of lower oil absorption.
InvoCor CI-3305
Basic Zinc Phosphate: “Strontium and Silicate Free” analog of InvoCor CI-3365, demonstrating lowered low oil absorption, good resin versatility, and improved performance.
InvoCor CI-3305 can typically be used at 25% to 40% lower loading levels when compared to InvoCor CI-3365. It also is a choice to consider as a zinc phosphate alternative because its improved performance profile many times translates to improved formulation economics.
Phosphates
InvoCor CI-3335
Calcium Phosphosilicate. ZINC FREE InvoCor CI–3335 is an excellent, cost effective, consideration as a zinc phosphate replacement.
This product has been specifically designed as a corrosion inhibiting pigment recommended for use in a variety of solvent and water-based chemistries such as: latexes, alkyds and epoxies. Typical loading levels are usually between 5% – 15% by total formula weight.
InvoCor CI-3335 is approved for use by the California Department of Transportation in their Specification PWB 145E (Red Primer Paint) and Specification PWB 146E (Pink Primer Paint).
InvoCor CI-3375
Strontium Phosphosilicate. ZINC FREE InvoCor CI–3375 is a cost effective, corrosion inhibiting pigment specifically designed for use in a variety of solvent and water-based chemistries such as: latexes, alkyds and is an excellent inhibitor choice for use in epoxies. However, it is not recommended for use in acidic or high acid number resin systems. Typical loading levels are usually between 5 – 10% by weight.
It also is a highly effective inhibitor for use in high performance adhesives, caulks and sealants.
InvoCor CI-7025
Calcium Strontium Zinc Phosphosilicate. InvoCor CI-7025 is designed to provide cost-effective performance in a wide variety of formulations and resin systems, both solvent and water, especially water-based epoxy esters. Proven corrosion performance based on time-tested mixed metal phosphosilicate inhibitor chemistry, It can be an excellent alternative as a cost-saving replacement to modified zinc phosphates. Typical loading levels are usually between 2.5% – 7.5% by total formula weight. Good price stability and environmental acceptance because of its low zinc content (under 5%).
